Bede Net is an academic portal for Bede.net and isasweb.net (formerly isas.us). Sources of Anglo-Saxon Literary Culture has moved here. Tools for the study of Old English are also hosted here and include search engines, a parser of Old English (under construction), and so forth. Since 1998, its primary aim has been to advance the study of the Venerable Bede. Bede was a priest and monk at the twin monasteries of Wearmouth and Jarrow in Anglo-Saxon England during the late seventh century and early eighth century. To date, Bede Net contains a bibliography to 1999. You will also find a variety of resources of possible interest to students and scholars interested in Anglo-Saxon England. Please visit BedeNet.com for information about conferences, seminars, publications, and events related to the Venerable Bede (maintained by Peter Darby and Máirín Mac Carron). The bibliography of Bede studies to 1995 can be found in the Bede Site. Here are links to the Sources of Anglo-Saxon Literary Culture • cryptographic scripts • Tools such as search engines for the ASPR • Scott DeGregorio's links to medieval spirituality • the Old English Newsletter • the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists • and to the electronic Monumenta Germaniae Historica. Bede Net is privately operated by Stephen Harris. It is not affiliated with either the University of Massachusetts, the Old English Newsletter, or Old English Publications. |
